Mike Barasch Honored at Citi Field Law Enforcement Appreciation Night
Managing Partner Mike Barasch made his major league debut on August 26, 2022, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before a game between the New York Mets and the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field in Flushing, Queens.
During the first pitch ceremony, Barasch and John Feal, Founder and President of the FealGood Foundation, were honored by the Fraternal Order of the Police (FOP) for their work on behalf of the 9/11 community. Barasch threw a perfect strike to Feal as part of the Mets Law Enforcement Appreciation Ceremony. Thankfully, he reached Feal standing in front of home plate without bouncing the ball!
Established in 1915, the FOP represents more than 364,000 law enforcement officers in 2,200 lodges.
Barasch & McGarry has worked extensively with FOP lodges and 10-13 clubs throughout the United States, speaking at their events to inform 9/11 first responders who have been diagnosed with 9/11-related cancers or respiratory illnesses of their right to access free health care and receive compensation awards.
Perhaps inspired by Barasch’s opening pitch, or more likely due to a game-winning hit by Pete Alonso in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mets defeated the Rockies, 7 to 6. It was the perfect ending to a special night.
