Michael Barasch Pushing for Neuropathy Coverage for 9/11 Responders’ Coverage Under Zadroga Act
Michael Barasch, the attorney for the late James Zadroga, as well as thousands of other WTC survivors, applauded the on-going study being done at Winthrop University Medical Center. An analysis of WTC dust has revealed toxins that researchers have linked to a 15x increase in diagnoses of neuropathy. Those diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy report symptoms of burning, muscle aches, severe pain, and rashes. In many cases, the symptoms are so debilitating that they prevent any movement.
Barasch urged NIOSH to officially add neuropathy to the list of WTC-verified illnesses so that victims can get the medical treatment that they need and deserve.
