Breast Cancer Strikes Men Too – the Zadroga Act Can Help

July 30, 2018 | Michael Barasch

Breast cancer is among the 68 cancers officially linked to exposure to WTC toxins. While this is a disease that primarily affects women, about one in a thousand men will develop breast cancer.

The Zadroga Act provides health care and compensation to men suffering from this rare cancer. Unfortunately, some men feel ashamed of their condition, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment.

Recently, I had the honor of joining one of our clients with male breast cancer, Jeff Flynn, who spoke about his experience with the disease, and with the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. Jeff’s message is that men should not suffer in silence. It is so important for people to talk about their experiences. Please help us spread the word and end the stigma by sharing this interview with others.
