As always, but especially now, my thoughts are with you and your loved ones. The last several weeks have been emotional and trying for all of us, but I continue to be inspired by the goodness in people, and the acts of kindness, large and small, that I see every day. In that spirit, I want to share with you some of what we are doing to help those on the front lines.
I am deeply proud of the Barasch & McGarry Health Care Workers Lunch Donation Program. To date, we have donated lunches and dinners to 26 hospitals and nursing homes, and we do so nearly every day around the New York and New Jersey area. We will be delivering meals to another 7 hospitals next week, and we won’t stop until the end of the health crisis.
We’ve also donated 50,000 masks to every firehouse across New York City, police officers at 37 NYPD precincts, sanitation workers, correction officers, Port Authority officers, and other front line workers who are going to work every day and selflessly risking their own safety. I thank the countless active and retired responders who have helped us deliver the masks to those who need them.
It has always been our goal to do good work, and to stand up for those who need us. We are living in historic times, and the gestures of warmth, support and love that we show one another will define us. I have no doubt that we will emerge from this stronger than ever, and with an overwhelming sense of gratitude to those who carried us through it.
The Victim Compensation Fund remains open, and so do we. Please join us in thanking our health care workers for their bravery and hard work during these times.
Respectfully,
The Barasch & McGarry Family
