September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Begins Payments to Group B Claimants

*** UPDATE: Since the date of this blog post, the deadline for filing a claim with the Victim Compensation Fund has been extended until December 18, 2020. ***

First Responders, Local residents, office workers and students with cancer may now be able to assert claimsMichel Barasch, managing partner at Barasch McGarry, commented on VCF Special Master Rupa Bhattacharyya’s announcement that the Fund has begun payments on “Group B” claims. Barasch said: “I am delighted to hear that the VCF has finally begun to pay Group B claimants. For so many of my firm’s clients who have been suffering from 9/11-linked cancers and other disabling WTC illnesses, the wait for justice is nearly over. Their payments are long overdue. I applaud the Special Master for expediting the payments.”
