Remembering our Vets and First Responders

November 11, 2024 | Michael Barasch

On this Veterans Day, once again, we honor the men and women who have served our wonderful country. We recognize and thank those who protect our nation and whose sacrifices and service make us safe. This includes my father, who deployed to Europe during World War Two as a member of the 100th Infantry Division under General Patton. We must never take our security for granted. We also acknowledge the 249th birthday of the Marine Corps and thank all Marines for their dedication to our nation.

Equally as important is recognizing those who protect us every day at home — our first responders. We thank our firefighters, police officers, EMT’s, Army National Guard, and many other responders for their daily selfless acts.

We remember the sacrifices they made on 9/11 and in the eight following months during the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Shanksville, PA crash site. They put the welfare and safety of others before themselves. That is what makes their careers so noble.

It is an honor to represent so many veterans and first responders.

With deep respect,
Michael Barasch
